The TimeClip was originally conceived and marketed as an all-in-one clipboard and SMPTE/EBU Timecode Reader, ideal for event logging while shooting.

Subsequent to the original design effort, Black Box Video approached us to supply them with a simplified version of the core electronics, as an OEM 'kit of parts'.

Several hundred 'belt-pack' style versions were then produced under licence.
